The Deck

Our new deck is almost complete. Now that most of the rails are up the girls were dancing all around and enjoying the view. We look forward to many cookouts and early morning coffee breaks out there.

Look Out Here Comes the ZIP LINE

Abby loved this zip line and would have spent her whole day going back and forth. Hannah smiles while on the hayride.

Rocks, Rocks, and More Rocks

Although this rocky playground is dirty it's lots of fun for the kids and much easier to clean up than sand. The girls kept telling me they were building a sand castle.

It's FUN to be a Kid

Abby goes down the slide and Olivia and Davis get a ride courtesy of Ms. Barbie.

Pumpkin Patch

We had fun looking at all the different size pumpkins. We picked one out and took it back to the front to wiegh it. It was more expensive than I was willing to pay so we settle for a smaller version.

The Hayride

We took a hayride to the pumpkin patch, we stopped off in front of the great big pumpkin for quick pic first.

Fall Festival

On Monday, 10-9-06, we went to Belevdere Plantation for the fall festival. It was our first year going there and the girls really enjoyed the day. We took Minnie along so it made for and interesting day.

THE END

It was time to say goodbye to Linn, Carl, Lindsey, Austin and Zack. We took one more quick picture and drove home.

CRASHED OUT

The girls were very tired and we finally got them to take a much need rest in the car. Don't they look so sweet and innocent when they are asleep :-)

Great Wolf Lodge, 8-3-06

We all enjoyed the indoor waterpark at the GWL. The rooms were exceptional and we would have loved to stay longer. We only had one night there and then we loaded up and headed back to VA.

Last day in the city, 8-3-06

We took one more trip into the city on Thursday, we ate at Roxy's and did some shopping. We also made a trip to another bakery to try the cupcakes and they were Yummy! We left the city that afternoon and headed to the Pocono Mountains for a day of rest from our busy vacation. After Brandy got lost we finally made it to the Great Wolf Lodge.

Broadway for the 1st time

After shopping we took a short break back at the hotel to visit with the rest of the gan and then we went to see our broadway show. Beauty and the Beast was excellent and it was worth just seeing Abby's expressions throughout the show. As soon as it was over she wanted to know when she could see another show. I hope she will always remember it.

Happy Birthday Abby

We spent the morning having brunch at the American Girl place in NYC for Abigail's birthday. Notice the highchair that they provide for the baby. The girls were not at all interested in the food, which was good for adults not so good for kids. She did have a great time and we took her shopping in the store.

8-2-2006, LOOK out NYC here comes Abby

Our ride into the city on the Staten Island Ferry is always done with much anticipation for what we will do in the city that day. Of course for Abby's birthday it was no different and she was very excited.

8-2-06, More Presents

Grandma Billie and Grandpa Darrell got her a night gown and dress up clothes. Her two favorite things.

Wednesday, August 2, Presents

Abby got a gameboy for her birthday. We also took her to the nintendo store in Rockafellar Center to buy some new games.

HAPPY 5th Birthday ABIGAIL

Well our entire trip revolved around this one day. I knew I wanted to do something really special for Abby's 5th birthday so we planned Jerry's retirement and our family vacation to accomodate that. Originally we were supposed to take Abby to Disney World because that is what we did for Hannah but on our most recent trip to Disney Abby said, "No thanks." I was very sad but had to figure out what would make her really happy, and I think we succeeded.

Tuesday, August 1

We visited the Little Pie Company in NYC. Each time we have visited NYC in the past I have always noticed these wonderful deserts in the food court in Grand Central Station but I was always too stuffed from my lunch to try any. Linnette had found this place online and I was excited to figure out it was the same bakery that has a location in GCS. We set out on Tuesday afternoon for a snack and boy did we have one. We had bananna coconut cream pie, chocolate cake, apple pie, cupcakes, and ice cream at our table. It was ALL delicious and you should make a point to try it out if you are ever in the city.
